Hey everyone! Not much stitching going on here, I'm afraid. I couldn't really tell you why I'm so busy, because I'm not sure myself, but there always seems to be 133497 things I need to get done every day.
So all I've managed to do is 100 stitches on a new start, the latest sheep in the Little Sheep Virtues SAL I'm doing with Lija. I finished the Courage sheep quite a while ago, so it's about time I started the next one. Here is Kindness:
I'm stitching this on 28 count Coffee Jobelan with DMC, just like all the other sheep. It's a good start, I think - I'm halfway done with the tree already!
I also have a very old, newly framed piece to show you:
This is my birth sampler! I rescued it from a trunk in my mother's bedroom a couple of years ago. My mother does not have a crafty bone in her body, so you could imagine my shock when I saw it. It's not cross-stitching, it's crewel work, and it must have been a kit with the design printed on the fabric, because I can still see faint lines under the thread.
The very existence of this is bizarre, and so is my name. She named me! You would think she'd have remembered the "h" at the end.
Anyways, I took it to the framer a couple of weeks ago and picked out this lovely antique-looking wooden frame. I wanted it to look old, because it is old! I'm so happy with it. It's a wonderful little heirloom, and I'm glad I have it safe behind glass now!
Whoops! Almost forgot - if you haven't signed up for my awesome 5th-blogoversary giveaway yet, you can do so here. There's a chance for two people to win!
